Training
Provided by Lorman Education Services
BenefitsThis teleconference will provide a basic understanding of form-based codes: how they are different, how they can be applied and how they can help implement more sustainable communities. Lessons learned and steps toward beginning the process will provide you with a clear path toward a successful form-based code. Legal and practical considerations associated with adopting form-based zoning regulations will be reviewed. Form-based provisions may not fit neatly into a municipality's existing zoning and subdivision framework. Practitioners must consider a variety of legal issues, such as the municipality's general authority to adopt form-based provisions, application and approval processes, and the treatment of nonconforming structures in a form-based district.
This teleconference is based on publicly available information concerning the
LEED rating and certification system, and is not specifically endorsed or approved by the U.S. Green
Building Council.
