Client Confidentiality Rules Every Legal Professional Should Know - A fundamental aspect of the attorney-client relationship is the attorney s obligation of confidentiality. The professional rules regarding confidentiality should be known and understood by all practicing attorneys. Clients expect confidentiality and the attorneys must respect and abide by that expectation. Furthermore, not knowing and understanding the confidentiality rules may lead to claims against the attorney that can result in a financial loss and an impaired reputation. This teleconference will address the fundamental rules of confidentiality in the various aspects of the practice and the interplay between confidentially responsibilities and the other professional rules and obligations.
