Internet Techniques for Locating Lost Relatives

nMany professionals are called upon to locate lost relatives of clients or patients. Attend this teleconference and learn the methodology, strategies and techniques that can lead to successfully locating the lost relative. Each search is unique. One always begins by establishing the goal - who needs to be located; determining what is known - the identifiers; and creating a basic research plan. There are many online resources, public and private, that can be used for a search. This teleconference will cover the types of records, the quality of information in those records and statutory considerations affecting the availability and use of records. After the search is completed and a lost relative is located, considerations about the types of outreach and contact with the individual will be discussed. Occasionally the initial results of a search are negative. The teleconference includes the evaluation of negative results and what to do next.
