ILM Level 2 SNVQ in Team Leading
ILM Level 2 S/ NVQ in Team Leading
The ILM Level 2 S/ NVQ in Team Leading is designed for team leaders who are primarily concerned with motivating their team members and achieving agreed outputs, with limited authority for deploying resources. The course consists of 6 units which are designed to develop the core competences needed by today s team leaders and aims to improve performance of the job role through a strong focus on job tasks and the first steps of the management responsibility ladder.
The 6 Units are:
A1 Manage your own resources
B5 Provide leadership for your team
D1 Develop productive working relationships with colleagues
E5 Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety
C1 Encourage innovation in your team
F5 Resolve customer service problems
Progression:
Candidates can progress onto:
ILM Level 3 S/ NVQ in Management; in Personnel Support; or in Volunteer Management
ILM Level 3 Certificate or Introductory Certificate in First Line Management
ILM Level 3 Award or Certificate in Leadership
ILM Level 3 Certificate in Coaching for Team Leaders and First Line Managers
Candidates who achieve the ILM Level 2 S/ NVQ in team Leading will be eligible to apply for ILM Associate Membership (AMinstLM).
Programme Structure:
6 one day workshops covering each of the units
(one per month starts Monday 5th January 2009)
6 reports - candidates are required to produce one for each unit
6 workplace observations - these are necessary between each workshop so that candidates can provide evidence that they are carrying out the competences in the workplace
Programme Duration:
Between 6 to 7 months dependent on achievement levels of candidate
Certification:
Certification is applied for when the candidates have proven and demonstrated their skills to the National Standards and have been assessed by a Qualified Assessor and Quality Assurance has been undertaken.
The process takes around 6/ 7 months and the Certificates are then applied for from the ILM or referrals made if necessary. Candidates have the opportunity to be re-assessed as many times necessary until the NVQ has been achieved.
All learners gain free studying membership of the ILM for 1 year which enables the candidate to get the most from their course and advance their management career. Studying membership gives access to a wide range of specialist support and development membership and services.
Once registered, candidates can activate their ILM studying membership online at www. i-l-m. com/ activate. At any time candidates can upgrade to become a full ILM professional member - giving an additional range of membership services and the use of post nominal letters.
Trainers:
All trainers are approved by ILM and occupationally competent (CV s available). All assessors are qualified to D32/ 33 or A1 standards. All IQA s are qualified to V1 standards.
Programme expectations:
All workshops are presented with Power Point presentations, exponential experiences, quality videos/ dvd s, games, tests, interactive group and individual sessions, debates, challenges, materials/ handouts and lots of fun (Registration/ certification with ILM and all quality checks are included)
Costs:
FULLY FUNDED for eligible candidates
TBC (ex. VAT) if not eligible
Includes free ILM Membership per person
Refreshment packages available on request
Funding:
A funding stream worth 100 of the cost per person is accessible though a local college. This is subject to eligibility checks of individuals and paperwork completed to access. More guidance and information on this will be provided on confirmation of the programme and research.
