ADLS is designed to provide the student with advanced knowledge, skills, and abilities in the field of Disaster Life Support. The prerequisite for ADLS is the BDLS Provider course. The advanced practicum is a hands on course. Students will demonstrate core competencies including:
Decon & PPE
Disaster Skills
MASS Triage
Patient Simulation Management
Provider status & course credit will be awarded upon course completion and demonstration of competencies.

Advanced Disaster Life Support ADLS
The objectives of Advanced Disaster Life Support are:
Discuss and apply the D-I-S-A-S-T-E-R paradigm to the all-hazards training skill stations.
Use the principles of all-hazards preparedness in the responder's actual healthcare delivery.
Day one is conducted in a didactic learning environment and consists of lectures detailing:
The DISASTER Paradigm
Mass Casualty Patient Decontamination
Regulatory & Legal Issues
Media & Communications
Community and Hospital Disaster Preparedness Planning
Community, State and Federal Resources
Mass Fatality Management
Day two is a full day of skills stations and consists of:
MASS Triage
Clinical Scenarios
Disaster Skills including small pox immunization
Personal Protective Equipment & Mass Patient Decontamination
