Program Overview

This course is designed to provide employees with skills, information, and practical experience to become effective workplace trainers. This program is designed at a very conceptual level and is hence suitable for both HR and Non HR individuals alike. It is a good alternative for especially those who are in HR functions such as recruitment and compliances and seek an avenue for lateral movement and hence career growth. The program also adds value to managers who frequently engage in conducting in-house training for their subordinates for any reason. Training - a mandatory function for organization growth


Day1


Introduction and Course Overview

You will spend the first part of the day getting to know participants and discussing what will take place during the workshop. Students will also have an opportunity to identify their personal learning objectives.


Learning Theory and environment

The power of the human brain, retention and recall, Visual, Hearing, Feeling (VHF) messages and its implications and preparing a checklist.

10 commandments for trainers

Participants will review the 10 commandments of training and would do a group work on the implications of disobeying the ground rules.

10 commandments for learners

As instructors we need to be aware of the ground rules of the learners as well. An insight into the 10 commandments for learners also gives peek into the expectation map of a learner.

Your Communication Style

The participants will work in small groups to identify their strengths and weaknesses. Importance of listening, voice modulation, eye contacts in a group and a brief about body language.

Rephrasing for Better Relationships

The lesson "it's not what you say but how you say it" is one that takes some people years to learn. In this section, participants will learn how to use language so that it will be better received in conversations and in writing.

Common Errors in Training

Participants will have a chance to review and discuss some of the common mistakes that trainers make and how to avoid making the same errors.

Characteristics of an Effective Trainer

To help participants personal development as a trainer, we will discuss some of the key characteristics a trainer must have to be effective and successful.

Visual Aids

This session will examine some different types of visual aids that you can use and how best to use them.

Presentation Skills

We will explore some different ways to communicate with the audience, including telling, showing, non-verbal communication, and using notes.

In this unit participants will explore several techniques for adding vocal and visual variety to their presentations.

Managing Hecklers

It is sometimes said, "There is one in every group." A difficult person makes the job of a presenter a challenge at best. Learning how to manage those audience members who "don't want to be there" is an essential skill of top speakers. This segment explores handling difficult people and challenging situations.

Presentations and Evaluations

We have set aside this time for participants to present their training program. In this session we will examine several methods that participants can use to make their presentations successful. This would essentially be learning by doing session. The methodology would involve group learning through individual assessment. The program will be conducted and evaluated by the participants with the trainer taking the role of facilitator and to sum up the learning s.
