Analytical Instrumentation Systems
The main topics covered by this course are those analytical measurements which on might expect to be made on a hydrocarbon processing plant. We wish to measure sulfur emitted from a smoke stack, the constituent parts of a process gas stream, the oxygen level in a waste water treatment station or the smoke issued from a boiler system and most of all, we wish to measure the concentration of dangerous gases such as hydrogen sulphide (H2S). All these instrument systems are studied in some detail with reference being made to specific measuring systems.
Assessment is by multiple choice test paper and where appropriate by practical exercise.
The course would benefit those tasked with the job of maintaining these instruments and needing a general knowledge level to aid them in the execution of their duties.
