COURSE DESCRIPTION:

The course is comprised of 25 sections, each either one or two hours in length, and covers topics pertaining to regulations covered by Standard 29 CFR 1926. The successful completion of this course will help meet the Construction Industry standards established by OSHA.


LEARNING OBJECTIVES:


Locate OSHA Standards references applicable to specific hazardous conditions and practices (Introduction to OSHA Standards)
Recognize the aspects of 1926 Subpart C (General Safety and Health Provisions)
Implement preventative measures for accidents in their workplace (Subpart D- Occupational health and Environmental Controls)
Describe types of personal protective equipment (PPE), and the requirements for use in OSHA standards (Subpart E- Personal Protective Equipment)
Understand the requirements for fire protection in the workplace (Subpart F- Fire Protection and Prevention)
Identify types of rigging equipment used to protect employees (Subpart H- Rigging; Subpart N- Cranes and Rigging)

This course has been approved for 30 hours of seat time.

Additional Materials:
You will be sent a copy of OSHA Standards for Construction. The book will serve as an invaluable resource for referencing OSHA standards that have been covered in this course, as well as researching regulations or standards that could help in establishing a safer workplace.

TESTING:
At the end of each module, you will be given a 10 question module quiz. You must score at least 70 on each module quiz to move forward in the course. You will be given up to three opportunities to pass each module quiz. Failure to successfully pass the quiz will result in you not being able to take the course for a six- month period. Once you have successfully completed all of the modules, you must pass a final exam to recieve full credit for the course. The exam is 25 questions long and will test your knowledge on information covered throughout the course. You must make a score of at least 70 to pass this course. You will be given up to three opportunities to pass the final exam; if you do not pass it after three tries, you will be locked out of this course and you will be required to purchase it agian if you wish to complete it.
