Learn the basics of word processing: creating, saving, opening, editing, and printing documents. Page, paragraph, and character formatting, including:
Session 1: Getting to know Microsoft Word
You will learn about your menu selections, screen elements, and using your mouse. Understand the different mouse pointers and what each icon means. How to customize the way your mouse works and how to control the mouse icons to perform to your expectations. There will also be a review of the File Manager and where you will find you documents.
Session 2: Formatting
You will learn how to make selections, use predefined formats and create your own format. You will be able to change fonts, sizes, and other attributes to help you design an effective and professional document.
Session 3: Check and save your work
In this session you will be introduced to the tools that will help you check your work including spellchecker and thesaurus. You will also learn how to customize these features to work best for you. Learn how to use the find and replace features to create more consistent documents and choose where your pages begin and end. Remember to save your work and understand where you are saving your documents.
Session 4: Margins, Page Orientation and Printing your work
In this session you will learn the features available to successfully print your work. You can change the page orientation, margins, fitting to the page size and printing ranges and selections.
