Training Provided by The Swamp School The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, announced on December 4, 2008 the publication and one-year trial implementation period of the Atlantic and Gulf Coastal Plain Interim Regional Supplement (Supplement) to the 1987 Wetland Delineation Manual (1987 Manual).This document is one of a series of Regional Supplements to the Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineation Manual, which provides technical guidance and procedures for identifying and delineating wetlands that may be subject to regulatory jurisdiction under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act or Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act. This online seminar is has been prepared for wetland delineators already trained in the 1987 Manual. It will provide specifics on how to use the new Regional Supplements and how their fieldwork will be affected. Discussions of the manual changes in interpretation of vegetation, hydrology and soils will be presented in detail though a video lecture series, quizzes and exercises.
