nMission critical operations include electronic trading operations; semiconductor manufacturing (clean rooms); pharmaceutical plants; hazardous biological or chemical labs; military, defense and government facilities; certain security or public safety related projects, including 911 call centers, emergency or disaster response centers; airport air traffic control towers; and other critical transportation centers. The common theme of these facilities is the need for highly reliable and stable power systems to support critical functions.
n
nMission critical actually refers to any enterprise that needs total continuity of operations regardless of any disruptions due to loss of grid power, severe weather, equipment failure or even routine matters such as equipment maintenance and upgrades. This teleconference will help you to ensure appropriate power reliability through an understanding of proper design and safe operations of on-site generator equipment and controls.
n
nNew developments in this field include new air quality requirements under federal New Source Performance Standards and federal NESHAPS. These new requirements are in effect now and additional NSPS requirements are being implemented in a tiered approach over the next few years. You will learn how to navigate these complex requirements and in some cases how to avoid them through project planning.
n
nThe U.S. Department of Energy has been charged with orchestrating the wholesale modernization of our nation's electrical grid -while it is running full-tilt. You will learn about this important initiative from a national expert on this topic who will be joining our teleconference panel.
