nThis teleconference will help you understand how to gain credits for advanced green building practices, including both system technologies and design innovations, which may qualify under the Innovation and Design Process section. The IDP section and qualifications policy has been reworked under the 2009 revisions to the LEED® program.
n
nThe information in this teleconference is important to anyone involved with major green building projects and is useful for building professionals who will engage in more lengthy training to become LEED® accredited professionals.
n
nThe U.S. Green Building Council is installing its third-generation version green building performance rating and certification system, LEED®. The 2009 revisions focus mainly on further reductions in energy waste and enhanced water conservation, representing a major upgrade and harmonization of key technical criteria. This latest version (effectively "3.0") results from more than four years of technical research, reviews of many actual LEED® certified projects and advisory activities of hundreds of technical experts.
n
nThis teleconference is based on publicly available information concerning the LEED® rating and certification system, and is not specifically endorsed or approved by the U.S. Green Building Council.
n
nLearning Objectives
n- You will be able to explain the link between sustainability and green building.
n- You will be able to state the 2009 guide and rating credit system.
n- You will be able to classify where innovation and design process credits may fit in.
n- You will be able to associate high-potential innovation and design process strategies from built examples.
