Certified Preparer of SWPPP (CPSWPPP Certificate)
Training
Provided by Online Training Directory
The 8-hour CPSWPP online stormwater training and certification educates and certifies individuals to prepare Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans. Professionals certified as a CPSWPPP are also certified to implement and inspect sites for stormwater compliance. This course can be completed in 2 weeks or less. The student can take longer to adjust to work schedules. Upon completion of the program 2 year access is given to all course content. This certificate is approved by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).

Outcomes
This CPSWPPP certification class will provide the student with a fundamental knowledge of all aspects of erosion and sediment control so the CPSWPPP certified person can:
Assessment
The classes are broken up into course modules. After the student completes a course module they are given an exam. If they do not pass the exam with 75% or greater, they must repeat the module and a new exam is given. Students may repeat the modules and exams as often as needed.
Course Outline Module 1Federal Construction General Permit This online course module covers the history of the Clean Water Act and NPDES Program; what is covered under the Construction General Permit; who should obtain the Construction General Permit; how to obtain coverage under the Construction General Permit; the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP); site inspections; termination of the permit coverage; and standard permit conditions.

This CPSWPPP certification class will provide the student with a fundamental knowledge of all aspects of erosion and sediment control so the CPSWPPP certified person can:
- Make proper and informed decisions on the information to include in the preparation of a compliant SWPPP;
- Measure the design needs of the site due to soils, type and size of construction project and fundamentals of proper erosion and sediment control design techniques;
- Describe and understand proper installation, maintenance and inspection of best management practices;
- Assess a construction site to determine proper stormwater compliance and provide assistance to the construction workers how to maintain a compliant stormwater site;
- Understand the teamwork and communication necessary between owner, operators, and SWPPP designer so the site stays in compliance throughout the construction project.
