In our personal lives we try not to tempt thieves by leaving mobile phones, money or valuables lying around in our cars, homes or offices. A retail store a whether it sells CDs, clothing, cosmetics or hardware a is set up to tempt customers to purchase goods. This unfortunately is also tempting to thieves. To help prevent theft, retail stores must have good security measures in place, and monitor and supervise these measures. This course covers the skills and knowledge required to maintain store security and is written from the perspective that you are a supervisor or have the skills to move into a supervisory role in the future.

This course covers the skills and knowledge required to maintain store security and is written from the perspective that you are a supervisor or have the skills to move into a supervisory role in the future.
In this course you will learn how to:
* Implement store policies and procedures to ensure store security is maintained.
* Monitor and review security procedures according to store policy and legislative procedures.
* Implement procedures to minimise theft of easily stolen merchandise.
* Maintain security of cash, cash register and keys according to store policy.
* Implement store procedures in regard to transactions.
* Inform team members of store policies and procedures in regard to security.
* Provide team members with feedback in regard to implementation or nonimplementation of store security procedures.
* Provide staff with ongoing supervision and training to facilitate awareness and detection of theft.
* Report matters likely to affect store security according to store policy.
