HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response) is a requirement under OSHA regulation 29 CFR 1910. 120 and 29 CFR 1926. 65 for all employees who may be involved in hazardous waste removal, treatment, storage or disposal. This course is specifically designed for workers who are involved in clean-up operations, voluntary clean-up operations, emergency response operations, and storage, disposal, or treatment of hazardous substances or uncontrolled hazardous waste sites. Managers and supervisors on hazardous waste sites are also required to take the HAZWOPER 40 Hour Initial Training as part of their more extensive curriculum.
Topics in this training include the Scope and Application of OSHA regulations on Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER), the role of chemical behavior and properties, Personal Protective Equipment, Incident Command, Contingency Planning, Emergency Response and other relevant subjects.
The online course meets the standard requirement of 40 hrs of initial training. The three days field experience under a trained, experienced supervisor is the responsibility of the students employer or potential employer.
Note: Many employers find online HAZWOPER training to be beneficial because it can be done in company "downtime", however, it is imperative to remember this training is only valid when accompanied by a certificate demonstrating completion of 8 hours of Hands-On Training in accordance with 29 CFR 1910. 120.

COMPLETION:
Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a certificate of completion.
TESTING:
Quizzes - All quizzes must be passed with a 100 to proceed forward to the next lesson.
Final Exam- Final Exam must be passed with a 70 to pass the course. The final exam can be taken three times if necessary.
