a workshop in English in Vienna at the Open University Business School, Fischerstiege 10, 1010 Vienna on Saturday, 25 April 2009, 10am-5pm
This highly practical workshop offers you a space to explore and expand your vocal and presentation skills. Our inspiration will be the Alexander Technique, a method widely taught in performing arts colleges in the UK and USA. With its help we can become more self-aware and gainer greater conscious control over the physical and vocal elements of our presenting performance.

DEVELOPING PRESENCE
Alexander Technique, Voice & Presentation Skills in English
Have you ever wished that you could
present with more confidence and impact?
speak more powerfully without strain?
communicate with more ease and less effort?
This highly practical workshop offers you a space to explore and rehearse all these things and more.
Our foundation and inspiration will be the Alexander Technique, a method widely taught in performing arts colleges in the UK and USA. With its help we can become more self-aware and gain greater conscious control over the physical and vocal elements of our presenting performance.
We will take a brief experiential look at the mechanisms of posture, breathing and voice production, use the Alexander Technique to prepare body and mind, and then experiment with simple vocal exercises in the group which, with practice, will give your voice more power and ease. As well as group and individual exercises there will be opportunities for personal presentation coaching, hands-on work from the instructors, and constructive feedback.
Early booking is recommended as numbers are limited.
The workshop will be facilitated by
Dr Harriet Anderson (www. harrietanderson. com) who teaches presentation and spoken communication skills at the British & American Studies Department of the University of Vienna. She has also been a Teacher of the Alexander Technique since 1999.
Alan Mars (www. thetechnique. co. uk) who has taught Alexander Technique and presentation skills within many top British and international companies (including: Abbey National, General Electric, Sainsbury's, Lloyds of London and many others) since 1992 and been a Teacher of the Alexander Technique since 1982.
