Lorman Education Services
Training Provided by Lorman Education Services nProblem: Floods are the most common natural disaster in the United States. According to the National Flood Insurance Program, more than 80 percent of the natural disaster losses in the United States are caused by flooding. Over the past 10 years, the National Weather Service estimates that flood losses have averaged more than $4 billion a year nationwide. Various government and insurance groups agree that nearly 40 percent of small businesses that experience a flood or other major disaster never reopen, and less than 30 percent of those that do reopen remain are operating two years later. Yet in spite of these risks associated with flooding, a 2008 national study commissioned by Office Depot indicates 40 percent of small businesses and nearly 50 percent of homeowners have no preparedness plans for floods or other major disasters. n nSolution: This teleconference is intended to help you reduce or eliminate the risk of flood damages to residential, commercial and public buildings.
