PsyD (Doctor of Psychology) - distance learning
Entry to this program is available at any time of year.
The Doctor of Psychology degree is a professional doctorate earned by completing taught units with an optional extended project. This degree is aimed mainly at practitioners such as counsellors, psychotherapists, hypnotherapists, pastoral counsellors, coaches, NLP workers and others who have some academic and some practical knowledge of psychology. A Bachelora s degree is required for entry and a Master's is preferred.
An individualised syllabus is compiled after enrolment: students may choose from our wide range of psychology course units and also from electives in related and other disciplines. The focus of the program can be counselling psychology, psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, abnormal psychology, transpersonal psychology, depth psychology or parapsychology.
Course delivery is mainly by textbook-based units and students can email written assignments for assessment. A project is optional.
This program is also suitable for those with ABD status in Psychology who wish to complete a doctorate without a dissertation. Transfers from ABD students will be welcome.
This program leads to the PsyD degree of Calamus International University, a global distance learning university that is not accredited by any government-approved agency. CIU degrees are not UK or US degrees and do not lead to licensure, chartered, accredited or government-registed psychologist status. They are suitable primarily for those in private practice who already have the necessary licence, charter or accreditation or for those in regions or lines of work where one is not required.
Due to the credit crunch, this program is now available for a tuition fee starting at GBP (Pounds Sterling) 995 plus textbooks as required.
