D. Hum. (Doctor of Humanities) by thematic study. Entry at any time of year.
The D. Hum. degree, awarded by Calamus International University, is a professional doctorate which allows the student to create his/ her own independent major (or choose an existing major) and work towards a degree by combination of taught units, independent study, evaluated portfolio, and optional extended report or thesis. A Bachelora ™s degree is required for entry.
The D. Hum. is sought where the nature of the subject area and/ or the student's prior experience makes this form of degree the most suitable way of earning a doctorate. The D. Hum. degree can also be earned by ABD transfer, allowing a scholar with ABD status to complete a doctorate, or can be taken by someone who already has a Ph. D. and wishes to write a dissertation in a different area. A writer may propose the use of a manuscript in progress to complete the degree.
The D. Hum. will normally be in an area related to humanities and/ or liberal arts, interpreted as broadly as possible, including politics and area studies.
The award is from Calamus International University which is a global, distant learning institution that does not have accreditation by any government-recognised agency. CIU degrees are not UK or US degrees.
