I. Introduction

2. Conduct the interview effectively

o Create a welcoming emotional environment
o Helping the client to be responsive

o Ask questions to make certain they re with you
o Ensure understanding
o Rephrase what the client said to confirm understanding
o Allow time for the client to ask questions
o Balancing your attention between the client and the computer
III. Spotting potential inconsistencies or dishonesty
