COURSE OVERVIEW
All people involved in making business presentations, including: management or sales presentations, staff meetings, information presentations, and team feedback, training facilitation or briefing sessions.
The person doing this course should have Communication skills at an NQF Level 4 or equivalent.
The course is based on a unit standard that forms part of the National Diploma in Fitness at NQF Level 5, ID 21890 and is also a fundamental in a number of educational qualifications at Level 5 and 6.
Many situations in our lives require that we a do presentations.a It is one of the most basic flows of communication in our society. Yet if you are like most people, it is a situation that probably inspires considerable anxiety in you; and a lack of skill may interfere with your personal and professional performance and advancement. Given the role that this ability will play in your life and your prospects; it is well worth making the effort to become as competent as possible in delivering presentations.
The purpose of the course is to equip the learner to confidently conduct a presentation which will make your audience sit up, pay attention, and 'get' the message you want to communicate.
In this course you will go through the theory on and be introduced to key presentation concepts at the level of:
a Professional oral presentation and public speaking
a Developing the information to present
a Doing a technical presentation.
On the last day of the training the learner is required to make a presentation against which they will be assessed. The presentation will be captured on video.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the end of this course, the learners should be able to:
Research and plan the content of the presentation in relation to the target audience.
Research the target group/ audience and its needs.
Decide on the pertinent points for the presentation.
Make sure that the content is presented logically.
Prepare and organize presentation material, for example by preparing overheads.
Apply technical presentation techniques with or without technical equipment.
Organise presentation material.
Use colour in (PowerPoint) presentations.
Prepare and organize presentation material, for example by preparing overheads.
Adapt the presentation to given environmental circumstances.
Prepare suitable contingency measures in case things do not go according to plan.
Display optimal presentation skills using for example eye contact, body language, voice projection and dialogue.
Perform self-monitoring and adapt the presentation to meet the needs of the audience.
Adjust your speech rate and volume and the complexity of the content to the audience.
Observe the response of the audience and adjust if necessary.
Evaluate your performance through the use of feedback tools.
Determine and measure the outcome of the presentation in terms of its objectives; e. g. whether it entertained, educated, motivated, informed or created awareness as it was intended to do.
