COURSE OVERVIEW
This is one of the key unit standards that facilitators of education and training and occupational learning need to be accredited with. The course equips learners to be able to understand the NQF and outcomes based learning and to facilitate against unit standards. The course covers the key components of facilitation theoretically and has a practical component where the learner gets an opportunity to facilitate a workshop during the course. Faranani shares a lot of its experience in facilitating fun and meaningful learning events. At the end of the course the learner will be equipped to facilitate in a range of different contexts using a variety of methodologies.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the end of this course, the learners should be able to:
Understand the concepts of NQF, SAQA and OBE.
Understand how adults learners differ from child learners.
Understand the experiential cycle of learning.
Differentiate between content and process.
Identify different learning styles.
Identify and accommodate learning barriers.
Identify and analyse the key elements of learning required to achieve defined outcomes.
Analyse the learners and learning needs.
Develop lesson plans to cater for the needs of learners and stakeholders.
Arrange resources, locations and personnel to suit intended training.
Prepare learning material to suit the purpose of the training.
Select appropriate facilitation methods to meet the agreed learning outcomes.
Prepare for the facilitation process.
Arrange the learning environment to meet organisational and legislative requirements.
Establish and document review criteria in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.
Facilitate learning in a coherent manner using appropriate methodologies.
Promote open interaction through the appropriate learning environment and facilitation approach.
Manage groups in line with facilitation principles.
Obtain feedback from learners and critically analyze the feedback.
Review the strengths and weaknesses of the planning, preparation and facilitation of the learning.
Recommend useful changes for the improvement of future interventions.
