PRINCE2 (PRojects IN Controlled Environments) is a process-based method for effective project management.
PRINCE2 is a de facto standard used extensively by the UK Government and is widely recognised and used in the private sector, both in the UK and internationally.
The method PRINCE2 is in the public domain, offering non-proprietorial best practice guidance on project management. PRINCE2 is a registered trademark of OGC.

1. Introduction
The main elements of PRINCE2
What part of a product life cycle PRINCE2 covers
The relationship between the project environment and the daily business of an organisation
The characteristics of a PRINCE2 project
When and for what projects PRINCE2 is applicable
The differences between the project and product life cycles
2. Organisation - This will ensure that the delegate :
Knows the project management structure in general and the roles and responsibilities of Team Manager and Project Support in detail.
Can identify the key responsibilities of the Project Manager and the Project Board Can identify the four layers in the PRINCE2 project organisation.
Can recognise the Business, User and Specialist interests of participating parties.
3. Plan(s) - This will ensure that the delegate:
Can identify the functions of the project plan, the stage plan, team plan and the exception plan, and indicate when these plans are created
Can identify the necessity and advantages of making a plan
Knows what a plan is, its structure and the PRINCE2 levels of plan
4. Controls - This will ensure that the delegate can identify the:
Objectives of control in a project
Various ingredients of controlled progress in a project and understand the concepts of the following: tolerance, product descriptions, work packages, quality control and project issues
Elements of the controlled start of a project and explain the project initiation document
5. Stages
Will ensure that the delegate can identify the reasons for breaking a project into stages, and understands the difference between management and technical stages
6. Management of Risk
Teaches how to identify the objective of management of risk for a project and when it should be performed
7. Quality in a project environment
Enables the delegate to identify the quality path through a project
8. Configuration management
Teaches how to identify which function configuration management fulfils in a project, and how this function might be handled in an organisation
9. Change control
Enables the delegate to identify the "forms" and general administration of Project Issues
10. Processes
Directing a Project Planning
In addition the delegate will learn to identify the sub-processes, input and output products of Controlling a Stage, Managing Product Delivery, Initiating a Project, Starting up a Project, Closing a Project and Managing Stage Boundaries.
