With creative concepts and ideas that reflect your sense of style you can bring warmth, and charm to your home. They are the tools that transform a room into a setting that excites the senses and sparks the imagination.
Divided into three broad sections- INTERIOR DESIGN BASICS, HABITS FOR EACH ROOM, and finally the FINISHING TOUCH- this course will aim to put to your grasp the mystery of design services. Each section contains topics that focus on a specific dilemma or design elements that designers face in various places.
We will focus on residential spaces and will help you learn new ways and methods to decorate your home from the basics of design, to room-by-room tips and tricks, to those all important finishing touches.
Many ideas and color photographs will inspire you and teach you to create the home of your dreams, and applying such methods to your own living space will be easy and fun. Hopefully by the end of the course you will be able to enrich your rooms with character and individuality!
At the completion of course, the participants should be able to:
Understand the concepts of Interior design
Demonstrate a better understanding of the spaces in their homes by learning to identify pros and cons, all which lead to more efficient layouts.
Create more intimate environments by applying some few creative ideas that enhance the d cor and reflect her personal style.
Create Harmony between the different elements including colors, lights and furniture pieces.

Anyone involved in defining, planning, or implementing a interior design plan for residential spaces. The program should be of special interest to people furnishing their homes and want to have a hands-on training on how to select colors, select the best furniture layout and the create right mix to create that intimate home .

INTERIOR DESIGN BASICS

01. The Bones
02. Color and Materials
Learning Objectives: By the end of this session, participants should be able to:

Identify the positive and negative aspects of what they have got in a space to take it from there.
o
Start to realize how the colors and materials used in a room can determine the mood and the general atmosphere.
Session Two
Topics discussed:
03. Space Planning and Furniture Arrangement
04. Windows and Lighting
Learning Objectives: By the end of this session, participants will be familiar with:
o
Laying out and creating spaces with the good qualities that we are searching for.
o
The simple interaction of light pouring inside and out and how it endows the structure of a home with its very life force.
Session Three
Topics discussed:
05. Bricks and Mortar
Learning Objectives: By the end of this session, participants shall be familiar with:
o
Some interesting building materials and decorating element
Workshop:
Each student will be given one furnished layout that she will be asked to study, and criticize. Also the student will select and propose a design theme for one of the rooms that will include something like: color scheme, furniture style, fabric composition, lighting fixtures, tiling patterns, ideas to accessorize, etc. The theme should be presented on A4 sheets.

HABITS FOR EACH ROOM

06. Lovely Living Rooms
07. Bedroom and Bath Basics
Learning Objectives: By the end of this session, participants will understand:

The most important elements when designing their living rooms.
o
How to apply their personal style to acquire the comfort and privacy in the bedrooms and bathrooms.
Session Five
Topics discussed:
08. Kitchen Considerations
09. The Dos and Don'ts for Dining Rooms
Learning Objectives: By the end of this session, participants will possess:
o
A few good tips for creating highly effective kitchens and very fashionable ones.
o
Advises to bring out the best in dining rooms and to achieve elegancy.
Session Six
Topics discussed:
10. Home Office Checklist
Learning Objectives: By the end of this session, participants will learn:
o
How to make the offices fit into their homes and be as lovely and inviting as the other rooms.
Research Component:
Each student will be asked to read an article handed out by the instructor, then the student will give a summary of the article as part of a group discussion.
Session Seven
THE FINISHING TOUCH
Topics discussed:
11. Your Personal Style
12. Accessorize
Learning Objectives: By the end of this session, participants will learn:
o
How to make their homes reflect them and their own personal style.
o
How to use accessories to change the whole atmosphere of a place.
Session Eight
Topics discussed:
13. Artful Displays and Collections
14. Words from the Wise
Learning Objectives: By the end of this session, participants will be familiar with:
o
Ways to enhance their d cor and add enjoyment to their homes using artwork.
o
Some valuable advises from famous designers.
Workshops:
Each student will be asked to get five photos of different furnished spaces that reflect her sense of style, and what she considers to be beautiful layouts, and other five photos of furnished spaces that do not visually appeal to her. The student will then be asked to examine and analyze them, and pinpoint what in her opinion are the positive and negative aspects. All these pictures will be presented on large boards.
