The Program is delivered in seven modules to enhance long-term learning.
Key One - Know Yourself - Let me introduce you to you.
- Identify your preferred style of communication.
- Identify areas of required/ needed personal development in communications.
- Identify differing behavioural styles in your colleagues - DiSC assessments are based on observable behaviour.
Learning Activities:
- Complete the DiSC Assessment.
- Role plays (simulations) of conversations from a work or personal situation to gain awareness of how you react to other styles.
Key Two - Inventory Time - What is your current reality?
- Identify the present reality in your work environment.
- Review your company s goals, vision, mission statement.
- Prepare a preliminary action plan based on your assessment of your current reality.
Learning Activities:
- Analyze the 5W & H of your company
- Who s in your staff compliment?
- Who are you customers?
Key Three - Know Your People
- Review your performance management process.
- Develop a method to use your performance management process as a coaching tool.
- Conduct performance management interviews with staff.
Key Four - Know Your Business
- Analyze your company s position in the marketplace.
- Who is your competition?
- How do you and your company keep up with changes in the marketplace?
- Review or develop your strategic business plan.
- What will you keep? What will you discard? What will you start?
- It may not be broke, but could it be better?
Key Five - Leaders Are Coaches
- Identify coaching techniques.
- Apply coaching techniques.
- Identify your process for being an active, present leader.
Learning Activities:
- Practise communication situations that require effective listening, questioning
Key Six - Backwards To The Future
- Develop a planning process using the backward planning technique.
- Identify the value added aspect of each project or initiative to be undertaken in the next quarter.
Learning Activities:
- Introduction of the backward planning process.
- Use the process to look to the future.
Key Seven - Follow-up
- Review effectiveness of steps in Keys 1 - 6 on a quarterly basis.
Learning Activities:
- Will we use it again?
- What can we re-use - set a precedent.
- What will we do with what we learned?
- Are we staying true to our vision, mission statement?
- What s in the parking lot from the last quarter?
