Training Program Details
Year I: The foundation year sees a student build up foundation skills in Art & Design in conventional as well as digital form. They learn Live Action Film Making incorporating CG elements skilfully
SEMESTER 1:
Figure drawing & Anatomy, Painting & Sculpting, Scripting, Drawing, Composition and storyboarding, Digital still camera, Lenses, Filters and Lighting, Colour, Perspective & Digital Image editing. Preview & Review of Popular Movies.
Term Projects: Character Design; Comic Strip Making; Portrait photography & Matte Painting
SEMESTER 2:
Videography, Video Lighting, Green Screening, Matting and Masking, Titling, Colour Correction and Audio Editing & Syncing, Program or Channel ID creation, 2D particles and Compositing, Preview & Review of Popular Animation Movies.
Term Projects: Script to Screen Project (Live Action Film with CG Elements with 2D Compositing), Montage Project
Year II: Students master the fine art Animation Film Making and Game Art Design. They produce their own short film in Animation and design a game with multiple props and Models in T Poses.
SEMESTER 3:
3D Modelling, Animation, Texturing, Lighting, Rigging, Rendering, Walk Cycle, Attitude Walk, Lip Sync, Floor Sack, Luxo Lamp, Weaving Sea Weed, GAG/ Teaser Concept
Term Project: Short Animation film
SEMESTER 4:
Game Interface, Basic Modelling for Gaming, Lighting for gaming , Animation, Rigging, Bones, skinning, Basic workflow and Scene Management, Level Design, Prop Design for Gaming, Creating Scene & Environment, Objects, Using Bip and Mocap Files, High Res & Low Res Models, Unwrap & Normal Mapping, Inorganic Modelling & Texturing, Game Art approaches in PC, Console & Mobile platforms.
Term Project: Level Design with multiple Props and Models in T Poses
Year III: Students learn and master the latest trends in Animation & Game Art Design. This year makes the student proficient in production line management and build team dynamics. Students complete a comprehensive project involving a multi-level Game.
SEMSETER 5:
Contemporary technologies (selection based on Technological developments and market requirements) like ZBrush, VUE, and Overview of Game Programming
Term Project: Multi-level Design for a Game with Time Tag Animation of: Walk, Run, Jump, Crawl, Duck, Crouch, Swim & Steer
SEMESTER 6:
This semester is intended to make a student proficient in production line management and to build team dynamics. Students take up a real life project and apply all the knowledge and skills gained during the entire programme in a group environment.
Term Projects: During each semester, students are required to do a term project implementing knowledge gained. Each of the films made by students start from concept till completion.
Graduation Project: Live Project with Supervised Work Placement within the campus or with a studio.
