Course description
The Integration Using the IBM Maximo 6 Enterprise Adapter course provides an overview of new J2EE technologies in IBM Maximo: XML, EJB, JMS, and WebServices. This information gives you a better understanding of the IBM Maximo Enterprise Adapter (MEA) facilities. It also teaches Maximo integrators how to configure and customize the IBM Maximo Enterprise Adapter. Configuration includes enabling integration interfaces, assigning and defining end points, and setting up cron task polling programs. Customization includes both rules-based and Java customization.
Pre-requisites
You should be CURRENT JAVA PROGRAMMER, or have taken a Java course immediately beforehand
Basic knowledge of IBM Maximo 6, -Experience with complex systems deployment, -Knowledge of Java to do Java customization, -Understanding of integration needs and fundamentals.
Objective
After completing this course, you should have a basic understanding of the MEA features and be able to integrate IBM Maximo with other external systems. After completing this course, students should be able to: - Describe the MEA architecture, - Describe the different options for integrating IBM Maximo with external systems, - Configure the MEA for sending transactions to external systems,
a Send/ receive data from XML files, flat files, and interface tables, - Create and configure JMS queues for the MEA, - Send to/ receive from JMS queues, - Send/ receive data using HTTP, - Send/ receive data using EJBs, - Enable interfaces for Web services, - Send/ receive using Web services, - Customize existing interfaces, - Create integration objects, integration points, interfaces, and adapters,
