LEED Tax Incentives and Credits for Green Buildings

Lorman Education Services
Training Provided by Lorman Education Services BenefitsLEED is a certification program for green buildings. Key elements of the program are water conservation, energy conservation and a reduction in waste going to landfill. Federal, state and local jurisdictions are looking for ways to incentivize improved performance in these key areas. The President is working with Congress to pass comprehensive legislation to protect our nation from the serious economic and strategic risks associated with our reliance on foreign oil and the destabilizing effects of a changing climate. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act included more than $60 billion in clean energy investments intended to jump-start our economy and build the clean energy jobs of tomorrow. The Department of Energy is issuing a series of grant opportunities directly and through state and local government to address these areas. This teleconference will highlight the numerous opportunities companies have to reduce the cost of investment in green buildings and energy efficiency by appropriately utilizing business incentives and tax credits. This teleconference is based on publicly available information concerning the LEED rating and certification system, and is not specifically endorsed or approved by the U.S. Green Building Council. Learning Objectives: - You will be able to list federal, state and utility incentives and rebates. - You will be able to discuss financing and loan programs. - You will be able to explain the impact of American Recovery Reinvestment Act. - You will be able to state potential impact of pending federal legislation. Engineers, project managers, presidents, vice presidents, architects, contractors, subcontractors, building owners and managers, government officials, accountants, developers and attorneys
