Certificate Program
Provided by Hospitality Education Services
This 2 Day ServSafe food safety and sanitation class is just for Spanish speakers and meets the NC requirements to qualify for the 2 point food safety training bonus on food service health inspections. NC currently requires 12 class contact hours and passsing of the ServSafe exam. Pre-registration and a ServSafe Essentials 5th Edition book & exam answer sheet is required. The class runs from 8: 30am - 5: 00pm both days. The exam is administered at the end of the second day of the class.

The Microworld
Contamination and Food Allergens
The Safe Foodhandler
Break for Lunch: 1 hour
After Lunch to 5pm:
*ServSafe Essentials 5th Edition book in Spanish, Chapters 5-8:
The Flow of Food: An Introduction
FOF: Purchasing, Receiving, and Storage FOF: Preparation
FOF: Service
Day 2:
8: 30am to Lunch:
*Go over homework, questions, etc.
*ServSafe Essentials 5th Ed. book in Spanish, Sections 9-14:
Food Safety Management Systems
Sanitary Facilities and Equipment
Cleaning and Sanitizing
Integrated Pest Management
Food Safety Regulations and Standards
Employee Food Safety Training
Break for Lunch: 1 hour
After Lunch - 3pm: Review & Pretest
3pm - 5pm: Exam Administration
