Front line supervisors are the linchpin to success for any organization regardless of size. They are the individuals who are responsible for implementing plans developed by managers many levels above them. When plans are not executed as designed, the front line supervisor is the one who shoulders all of the blame. When things go well, they dona t share in the rewards. In many instances good direct support personnel are promoted to supervisory positions without receiving the focused training they need to be effective leaders and managers in their new roles.
In today's economy, providing superior service is no longer optional - it is a survival skill. Organizations face stiffer competition, more knowledgeable customers, and tougher market conditions. It is a five-day interactive workshop designed to provide present day supervisors with the tools they need to be effective. Its purpose is to provide a foundation that will lead to a commitment of continuous improvement on the part of the participant. Lifelong learning is no longer just an educational concept; it is a business requirement. "How to Become a Successful Supervisor" is designed to fulfill two themes, personal development and the development of others.
The most important key to personal development is onea s own sense of personal accountability. Each individual is responsible for planning and executing their individual development process. This course provides the tools that form the basis for a personal development process that can be life impacting.

How to Become a Successful Supervisor
The course will be a five day eight hour per day interactive work shop designed to facilitate the knowledge transfer to first level managers in such a manner that they acquire the following knowledge:
* Recognition of the list of priority goals and key issues that are essential to the organization's strategic direction. This will enable the participants to better accomplish their objectives and align their organizations with the leadership team s immediate strategies.
* How to effectively communicate to all levels of management peers and subordinates in a manner that accomplishes the desired outcomes and maintains productive relationships.
* They will be introduced to the Written. Harmonious. Your. Specific. Measurable. Attainable. Realistic. & Time bound. (WHYSMART), goals system. WHYSMART goal techniques used to ensure that the products and services are managed in a way that meets organizational requirements.
* Today s workforce is more complex than any of its predecessors. When coupled with the intense level of competition that supervisors will encounter it is paramount that frontline leaders understand the nature of today s workforce. This workshop will provide the opportunity for managers to role play techniques that are proven effective with the modern talent pool.
* A though review of sample mission statements will be conducted to ensure that participants understand the importance of inter organizational cooperation.
In addition to the concepts listed above, the following techniques will be incorporated in to the sessions along with multiple opportunities to role play situation.
* Awareness of self is key to effectively leading others. Action learning techniques will be used to illustrate how our concepts increase that participant s ability to effectively critique their effectiveness and enhance their self awareness.
* Situational leadership is a key concept that we use when exposing the participants to servant leadership. These leadership behaviors are tools that all effective leaders must become comfortable incorporating into thier management style. Participants will be given ample opportunities to internalize both behaviors.
* Being comfortable with team building concepts is a significant outcomes that participants will realize. They will learn the key phases of team formation along with how effectively to manage through difficult times.
* Students will have the tools that will give the confidence to manage through difficult interactions and conversations in a manner that maintains dignity and productive relationships.
* Critical thinking and problem solving techniques will be explored in detail. The participants will be given tools that they can incorporate into their every day regimen.
