This intensive 5 day course has been designed to both equip candidates with underpinning knowledge and an understanding of the practical skills required to cope with basic and/ or emergency plumbing tasks. On completion candidates will receive a City & Guilds Certificate. The course can be used to learn how to do the plumbing in the candidates home, or as a stepping stone to more advanced plumbing courses for someone wanting to learn to become a plumber.

Basic Plumbing 5 Days
Course Details include:-
Day 1
Health and safety
Explain plumbing parts and tools.
Demonstrate how to do basic measurements in mm.
Demonstrate how to use pipe benders.
Start to make bends for angles.
Start practicing measuring in mm.
Day 2
Demonstrate how to solder using scrap pieces of pipe.
Solder bends, tees, reducers and connectors in 22mm and 15mm pipe.
Recap over the two days answering any questions that may arise
Day 3
. lecture on building regulations for notching and drilling of Joists
. demonstrate how to notch and drill a Joist correctly . lecture on 1st fix / carcus Installation ,quoting Industry standards for pressure testing , using a scale drawing (plans)
Day 4
Lecture on the different hot water systems , and how to shut off the supply
Lecture on cold water systems , and how to turn of the supply
Strip down and reassemble pillar taps.
Strip down and reassemble ball valve.
Day 5
Show different types of traps and how to maintain them.
Recap all of the above answering any questions that may arise.
Learners to take multiple choice questions on hot and cold water supplies(40 questions each subject , 1 hour period for each)
Recap on the test results and give explanations
Lecture on building regulations for soil and waste pipe requirements
Day 1
