This intensive 5-6 weeks hands on City & Guilds Painting & Decorating course will see you progress from a beginner to a competent Painter & Decorator whilst building a portfolio of your work as you go. The course is designed to build your skills and confidence gradually until painting & decorating becomes second nature. Our newly designed plastering division here at Capital Training has been specifically designed to challenge you by teaching you to deal with the more difficult jobs that you unexpectedly encounter.

There are 6 mandatory Units and you must complete any 2 Units from the 7 optional units to achieve the FULL award
The 6 Painting & Decorating Mandatory Units are:
006 Painting a timber window frame
007 Applying emulsion to wall by roller
008 Painting doors and frames
009 Applying oil based paint to walls by roller
062 Removing and hanging wallpaper to walls
063 Hanging paper to ceilings and painting
The 7 Painting & Decorating Optional Units are:
010 Rust removal and priming metal
011 Applying paint by spraying
012 Introduction to glazing for painting and decorating
013 Using broken colour techniques
014 Working with hardwood finishes
015 Removing and refitting a water-filled radiator
064 Introduction to artexing and coving
