NCRCa s classic facilitative mediation model is introduced and reinforced over two weeks of sequential learning. The courses can be taken separately or together for a total of 64 hours of mediation training. Introductory Mediation Skills Training (32 hours) in the first week is followed after a weekend break with Advanced Mediation Skills Training (32 hours) which introduces new techniques that will challenge even seasoned mediators.

Week One: INTRODUCTORY
Mediation Skills Training
(32 Hours)
This intensive 32-hour skill building course teaches NCRC s classic six-stage facilitative mediation process through a combination of lectures, interactive exercises, and participatory simulations. NCRC s informal but structured mediation model has been refined over 25 years of day-to-day application in a broad based mediation practice in the San Diego region as well as extensive training venues worldwide.
This training offers essential skills to anyone active in conflict resolution in both professional as well as personal settings and meets the training requirement for the NCRC Mediator Credential Program.
Week Two: ADVANCED
Mediation Skills Training
(32 Hours)
Learn the tricks of the trade from mediators highly experienced in using NCRC s mediation model in a variety of actual cases. This interactive course builds on skills learned in the Introductory Mediation Skills Training and introduces new techniques for dealing with impasse, ethical dilemmas, money issues, high conflict personalities, and adaptations of the facilitative model in business and legal settings
Supervised one-on-one skill development, individual coaching sessions, and feedback are provided by NCRC trainers and mentor mediators. This course may be applied towards partial fulfillment of the NCRC Mediator Credential curriculum.
