Institute of Infrared Thermography IRT

The Institute of Infrared Thermography (IRT) is an organization dedicated to providing Infrared educational programs, seminars, consulting services, program development and support, as well as, research and development to individuals and companies worldwide. The original training organization, the Academy of Infrared Thermography began operation in 1984 in Kamloops BC Canada. The Academy was the largest independent infrared training organization in the world. Today, the original owner, Mr. Ron Newport provides global infrared thermography training under a newly structured organization: The Institute of Infrared Thermography. The head office remains in Canada but there are now branch offices in the UK, Sweden, the Netherlands, Singapore, China, as well as trainers in 4 other countries. IRT provides training in infrared thermography as it applies to the electrical industry, petrochemical, automotive, plastics, steel, electronics, energy conservation and savings, building energy conservation and building audits, building facades, roof thermography, water leak detection, security, medical and many other applications. IRT is an accredited training organization, providing certification training in three standards, American Society of Non-Destructive Testing, British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing, and the European Thermography Standard, and ISO. Courses offered are basic infrared camera operations, Level I, II & III Certification courses, and application specific courses such as electrical thermography certification, mechanical courses, building thermography, and so on. The Institute of Infrared Themography is able to appraise companies and develop any type of new course as it applies to a specific industry. IRT is independent and arranges courses in which all people can attend, no matter which brand of infrared camera owned. We are thoroughly knowledgeable with every brand of instrument. Infrared manufacturers and sales representatives sell cameras into nearly every country in the world and send students to our institute to train. This means IRT potentially provides training in over 32 countries. Beside the regularly scheduled courses, IRT provides specific on-site training at large companies that have several thermographers on staff. We have trained hundreds of organizations like Intel, ESSO, PetroCanada, Mobil Oil, Shell, Norsk Hydro, Ontario Power, Singapore Power, TNB (Malaysia Power), General Motors, Ford, Westinghouse, Eaton/Cuttler Hammer, Intel, Japan Power and Electric, and so on. We have worked with hundreds of companies and thousands of thermographers who use infra-red imaging, or thermography, in a host of applications. These range from predictive and preventive maintenance (P/PM) to condition monitoring, from nondestructive testing (NDT) to research and development (R&D), from process control to quality control, and from building diagnostics to security and surveillance. The list of applications for thermography is almost endless and is limited only by your imagination. Our Level III trainers are able to help you develop your entire infrared program with infrared camera instrument evaluation, program development and implementation, personnel training and certification (ASNT, BINDT, European and ISO standards), specific application training, Infrared inspection services, application development and consulting services. The Institute has continued and steady business growth as it develops new training courses, enters new countries and develops new partnerships. We are open to developing new training associates, if interested in expanding your existing infrared business or starting your own infrared thermography training give us a call.
