ICA Associates Inc.

We are Canada's premier source for facilitation training and practical methods of participation.

We have a training centre in Toronto, and offer training throughout Canada as publicly scheduled or in-house courses. We focus on group process facilitation for all sectors including government, corporations, education, non-profits, and community groups.

Why settle for "buy-in" when you can co-create wise solutions in a timely fashion and have ownership of the results?

We offer packages that address all the facilitator competencies measured in the Certified Professional Facilitator designation of IAF (International Association of Facilitators).

We can also design and deliver training of your own content, using adult learning techniques.

ICA Associates Inc. Facilitating a Culture of Participation

ICA Associates Inc. is a unique facilitation and training organisation providing effective participatory skills to thousands of people across Canada. ICA Associates and its affiliate organisations have 40 years of experience in 36 nations. ICA is on the leading edge of change, and consistently delivers quality programs to its many client communities and organisations.

What Is A Culture of Participation?
Participation allows everyone to share, to work together and contribute in a meaningful way. We believe that everyone has wisdom, and therefore the best plans and solutions are created when everyone participates.
Our Mission
Our mission is to promote, empower and focus people s capacity to participate in creating a more human world through:
-Training in group facilitation and change management methods
-Facilitation in individual, community and organisational development

What We Do
Our core business is to provide facilitation and training services to organisations with a commitment to partnership and service. We facilitate consistent, high-quality, action-oriented programs for hundreds of organisations and communities every year. Our focus is on positive change and transformation. The range of groups and issues we work with is extremely wide because the participants are the experts while our facilitators guide the process. We work with any private, public, and non-profit organizations and we also support individuals who want to facilitate participation.

Because we offer facilitation, training, and coaching, we can design a complete process for you, facilitate key events within that process, both face to face and on line, as well as train your internal facilitators to help implement and sustain the initiative. The following pages will show you what we do and how we do it.

A Little About Our Philosophy
We have a unique philosophy of facilitation that allows us to draw out the best thinking of a group. These methods provide facilitators with
-a structured approach that recognizes all contributions.
-methods to help a group deal with large amounts of data in a short period of time.
-methods that pool participants contributions into larger, more information - rich patterns.
-methods that allow you to successfully deal with polarization, conflict and diversity.

As a result, our approach is practical, realistic and humane. At ICA we turn diversity, disagreement, and change, into assets to be embraced, not merely problems to be managed . When you use ICA services, you get more than just good decisions from your group. You gain the commitment of the participants, and that is what leads to success. We call our methods Technologies of Participation or ToP.
