You will learn how to be successful in fiber optic installation from the Pearson Technologies popular hands on programs. From these programs, trainees have learned professional techniques essential for installation and design of fiber networks. These professional techniques result in successful installation and design of fiber networks. Success in installation means low cost, low power loss and high reliability. Success in design means complete specifications, low cost and reliable operation. The FiberPro 1-5 programs, focused on the needs of those involved in data communications, SANs, LANs, CCTV and security systems, range from 2-5 days to provide installation and design skills at basic and advanced levels. FiberPro 6-9 are 3-5 day programs focused on the needs of those involved in FTTH, FTTC, FTTx systems. Attendance at these installation programs can result in one basic and three advanced professional certifications from the Fiber Optic Association. Programs include: fiber optic cable pulling, routing and dressing; end preparation of indoor and outdoor cables; multimode and singlemode connector installation by 4 methods; connector installation of all common styles; splicing by fusion and mechanical methods of multimode and singlemode fibers; testing by insertion loss, OTDR and reflectance; troubleshooting and certification of fiber networks; and network design, component specification and realistic cost estimation. Students learn the essential basics and subtilties from Mr. Pearson s broad and extensive experience with fibers, cables, connectors, electronics, installation, testing and training.
