Drs. Martye Groble and Donna Sumlin specialized in in-house training for companies who chose to increase their knowledge and skill with interacting with people with disabilities. Drs. Groble and Sumlin have both served on state councils dedicated to the needs of persons with disablities, have taught rehabilitation courses at local universities, and have worked in private practice in rehabilitation counseling. Both professors are knowledgable in rehabilitation related laws including the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (as amended); the IDEA (as amended) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (as amended). Sea Palms (Softskills Enrichment Advantage Peercounseling, advocacy, lifeskills, mentoring Specialists) provides CEU and in service training for health care and rehabilitation providers as well as training classes for service industries. As medical care and adaptive technological increases the career potential of persons with disabilities, the recreational use of persons with disabilities increases. Hotels, resturants, cruise ships, state parks, theme parks, theaters, beaches, and more have a relatively new and growing population of customers. What is the right thing to do with a wheelchair?
