Able Building Skills Centre has been specifically set up to help you learn your chosen skill in a friendly and spacious environment. You will work under the instruction of qualified master craftsmen, all City & Guilds/NVQ trained and CITB approved, who will guide you through your course, willing at any time to explain any areas you feel unsure of. Whether you are looking for a change in career or looking to do a DIY project, our aim is that you have the confidence to tackle everyday situations once you have completed your course and left the training centre.

Our courses are extremely popular and sought after and we recommend all participants book their course as early as possible to avoid disappointment as availability changes daily.
At the end of your chosen course you will receive an Able Building Skills Certificate of completion. Able Building Skills is affiliated with the Guild of Master Craftsmen; this may assist you in gaining employment at a later stage.
Able Building Skills specialises in "hands on" training, all tools are provided and demonstrated.
No previous experience is necessary in order to take part in any of our course"s.
These courses are designed to help you on your way to a CITY AND GUILDS or NVQ. Details of local colleges and courses are available on request.
Weekend courses available: If weekdays are unsuitable due to work commitments, we do offer the same courses, split over two consecutive weekends for your convenience. The course contents remain the same, 5 days condensed into 4. Course costs remain the same.
For people travelling longer distances Able Building Skills can provide their own reasonable priced accommodation on request or at the time of booking.
After you have trained with us, we would be happy for you to contact the centre at any time, either by phone or E-MAIL, should you need clarification or advice on any work you are attempting. These courses are open to anyone, regardless of gender or status.
Concessionary fees will be considered for unemployed persons.
Courses are held 7 Days a week . ALL Course Times are: 08.30am-16.30pm.

With the influx of development and commercial growth surrounding this event, there will be a demand for professionally trained and skilled labour in all of the areas Able Building Skills specialises in.

Able Skills has been specifically set up to help you learn your chosen construction skill in a friendly and spacious environment. No previous experience is required in order to take part in any of our courses; these courses are open to anyone, regardless of gender, age or status.
These courses are available over 5 or 10 days, which offers you the option to do an intensive or advanced course, or both.
Everyone is welcome to attend training courses at Able Skills and since opening, we have built links with the Princes Trust, various training organisations supported by Job Centre Plus, Housing Associations nationwide, Armed Forces Resettlement and Connexions to name but a few.
These important links have meant that we have been able to train young people, unemployed people, Servicemen for resettlement and have gone some way towards enhancing the skills of those already in employment.We pride ourselves in the quality of training we deliver, so much so that we have now obtained City & Guilds and NPTC approval which enables us to provide qualifications for those seeking to further their education and career.
In addition, we have also obtained accreditation from EAL and NICEIC, enabling us to deliver our Electrical Course to people in order for them to obtain the essential PART P Domestic Installers Certificate, which has become a legal requirement when carrying out electrical installation in the UK.
As a City & Guilds approved Centre, we can guarantee that we have excellent facilities, equally available to all, regardless of whether you train for 5 days or are covering a City & Guilds option.
In all courses, you will work under the instruction of qualified master craftsmen who combined, have well over 200 years of experience, They are also all City and Guilds /NVQ trained, CITB approved and are also Assessors in their own right. Able Skills also have their own Internal Verifiers.
Our purpose built training centre with excellent facilities, guarantees that everything we offer is done here on site and is hands on , practical training, with all tools and materials supplied and demonstrated by us.
All Able Skills tutors are extremely approachable and patient; our tutors will guide you through your course, willing at any time to explain areas you feel unsure of, they are there to ensure you leave your training fully competent in the area you have chosen to study.
We want you to feel comfortable whilst you train with us as we feel this helps the learning process. We can promise you a great atmosphere within the training environment and guarantee you will leave having enjoyed your time with us.

Travel & Accommodation:
Able Skills is easily accessible by road or rail.
Should you be travelling by train, an Able Skills representative will be happy to collect you from the station on a daily basis should you require.
For people travelling longer distances, Able Skills can provide their own reasonably priced accommodation on request or at the time of booking. This accommodation is on a room only basis and is priced at 20.00 per night. You will have tea/coffee making facilities in your room as well as a TV/DVD. There is also a shared kitchen/dining area and showering facilities. The accommodation is a short walk from the Centre however, upon arrival to collect your keys; we will drive you with your luggage to your room to settle you in. We will attempt to make your stay away from home as comfortable as we can.
Should our own accommodation not be available, we can arrange alternative B&B, still within an affordable price range.
Payment Options:
Once you have decided which course you want to do or qualification you want to achieve, you can contact us to arrange your dates and pay a deposit to secure your booking.
Able Skills has forged links with HSBC Bank and is able to refer you to help you to obtain loans etc to meet your costs.
