  • R asked: My son is . yrs of age. He is extremely rude vocally, and throws items when he loses his temper, which happens easily. He can be non negotitable and dictates when music can be on, what tv station can be watched, and the DVD choice. He is extremely defiant, and yells and screams. His kindy is constantly reporting inappropriate behaviour, which on one ocassion involved him throwing chairs because it was raining outside and he didnt want to be dropped off inside. The other day he ate clay, and bent and ripped all paper cards that went with a match it game. He always rips all paper objects including games and flash cards. He has seen a dietician, a child psychology, and now a naturopath. We have not been able to defeat him yet. he can however spell his own name, read numbers and letters, shapes, colours. He has above average skills in gross motor, can swim the length of the pool unassisted, and enjoys playing with his friends. His dad had been overseas for a year, but returned every months for a month on rotation. He is now home for good. We have also moved house, but as I also work in early childhood, I have tried to expain and reason with him on levels I feel are appropriate. Any ideas? about Child behaviour management and positive behaviour change
  • J asked: We are an early intervention service for children aged -yrs and we are looking for child behaviour management training for our staff can you provide me with some training details for your organisation about Child behaviour management and positive behaviour change
  • L asked: I am a homeschool teacher for a family with five children. Our eldest child is years old and has behaviour issues. I am employed to teach four children at the same time but his behaviour takes up the majority of my time and I find the other children suffering because of this. I have tried methods of reward.. methods where he can 'assist' me with the other children.. I am in need of assistance and ideas. We have also sent the child to a 'regular' school to interact with children his own age and older for social skills and classes with varying techniques. The children come from a very wealthy family and have been given everything they could dream of. They have a lot of time with their mother during the day and are rewarded with special Mommy and me time for good behaviour- the mother has issues where she rewards bad behaviour with an hour of her time discussing what is expected of the child and the other children miss out on time with her. This happens occasionally. I could go on..! The eldest child sees school as as interference with his playtime. I have tried hands on approaches, studying subjects he loves (airplanes, jet ski's, motorcross, rock music).. He finds it all boring. He doesn't stick to anything (including play) for longer than minutes before he is 'bored' and has to move onto something else. His mother pays for sports classes (which he enjoys) but he gets bored very quickly. This means he has anything he is interested in given to him.. he is being set up for scuba diving classes because he is bored with windsurfing, water skiing and kayaking (which he started this summer).. Please help!.. or at least can you advise some literature or even a course I can go on to help this child and in turn help the family. kind regards about Child behaviour management and positive behaviour change
