Caledonia Training was founded to promote the awareness and understanding of those earning difficulties and developmental disorders that affect as many as 1 in 5 school children, and impact on their learning experiences ,and on their lives at home.
The aim of the company is to provide high quality training and advice for anyone who has a direct involvement in working with children who have learning, or behavioural difficulties. All our trainers and consultants are experienced teachers who have held senior positions in their schools.

Many go undiagnosed. Many are misunderstood.
Neuro-science is now powering a new understanding of the underlying causes of so many childhood difficulties, and these include:
Asperger s syndrome &Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD)

Deficits in Attention, Motor Control and Perception (DAMP)
Dyspraxia
These conditions are becoming more widely known and understood and yet many children still go undiagnosed, and their difficulties attributed to other factors (such as poor parenting).
Many children who exhibit challenging behaviour have one or more of the difficulties listed above, but do not receive the support that they, and their parents and teachers need, because the specific nature of their underlying problems has not been identified.
With sufficient support, such challenging pupils can become resilient learners and it is often the very small adjustments in their lives that can have the biggest impact.
Workshops and seminars
Workshops are designed for between 10 and 20 participants and are usually held at the place of work, or at a conveniently located venue.
Presentations balance the need to develop a theoretical knowledge base with the importance of practical strategies that can be used in classroom, playground or at home.
Case studies illustrate successful management strategies and time is allocated to the discussion of problems specific to individual pupils or schools.
