Cherry A. Collier, Ph.D. is the Chief Empowerment Officer, CEO of The Fruits of Labor, Inc. a global training and development firm specializing in maximizing human performance and organizational effectiveness. She has a solid and comprehensive educational background, along with a diverse career beginning as an educator and human performance improvement consultant, and later successfully transitioning into large-scale organizational change management and performance coaching programs for Fortune 500 corporations and major institutions including The Coca Cola Company, Lucent Technologies, Russell Corporation and Auburn University. Dr. Cherry is a dynamic leader and success coach offering over 15 years of expertise in the design and execution of proactive business process reengineering, employee development and productivity improvement initiatives.
Dr. Cherry created team building interventions for many of her clients and led the change management and implementation strategies sensitive to and supportive of the corporate downsizing and right-sizing processes. Additionally, she has been responsible for empowering leadership competencies, and increasing employee morale and productivity, internally for employees, and externally to clients through consulting engagements.
She has been highly effective leading professional service consulting teams through extensive organizational change, coaching human performance and technology rollouts, and implementing worldwide communication strategies to support globally based corporate programs. Dr. Cherry has a natural talent in developing strategies, organizing programs, coaching/motivating teams, and controlling financial resources for programs that have positively impacted revenue, profit, and performance. As a senior consultant for Accenture; she led the organizational change and human performance efforts for four $5+ million dollar technology implementations for Verizon, Sharp Electronics, State Farm Insurance Company and S1 Corporation. Throughout her career she has had the opportunity to lead numerous start-up programs and operations providing direction that reflect her core strengths - the ability to assess critical need and build innovative programs and processes that deliver long-term solutions while at the same time adding depth and value to the customer service and human performance elements as it contributes to the corporation and to the community.
Dr. Cherry received her Master of Science and Ph.D. in Social Psychology from the University of Georgia. Graduated Magna Cum Laude, from Spelman College, with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. In addition to being a business coach, motivational speaker, and consultant, she is also a published author. Her dissertation on "Stereotypes and Hiring Decisions" received numerous awards and was published in the Journal of Applied Psychology. When it comes to helping people MOVE out of their own way --she wrote the book. Her book Move Out of Your Own Way enables people to get out of their own way to achieve extraordinary results.
Dr. Cherry is certified trainer and master practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), She is certified to administer Myers Briggs Type Indicator, DISC, Hermann Brain Dominance Inventory, True Colors Behavior Assessment, is a certified SHRM generalist, and has received extensive coaching and leadership training including Coachville, TTI, Corporate U and is a graduate of The Coaches Institute (CTI).
