What do I need?

A broadband connection is recommended and microphone and speakers. We can use the sofware you're familiar with. We can use MSN messenger, Aol messenger, Google talk, Aol messenger, Yahoo messenger, Gizmo, Skype, etc. I prefer Skype because it has a superior voice quality.

How does it work?

There are some similarities and differences with traditional tutoring:

Similarities: It is in real time, you're with me, we go through a lesson plan, cover grammar/vocabulary topics and focus on conversation. We listen to audios (as you would listen to tapes in a classroom) or watch videos together. You may have to read so i can correct your pronuciation. You can have a text book, etc...

Differences: We will use the web as our main blackboard. We will explore Spanish speaking countries search engines and get used with the resources available on the web. Although we may use a webcam, this cannot replace an actual tutor! Therefore we will lack of body language (which makes it easier to understand another language). We will work with this differences and make them and advantage in the learning process.

What's the student role?

We will focus on your areas of interest trying to make the learning experience an active process, taking into account your own ideas.

Can anyone join the On-line lessons programme?

Yes. Anyone who wants to learn Spanish and finds VOIP technology useful and interesting can join the online lessons programme. If you're not very used to this technology yet, we'll start working on your internet skills so the lessons become a natural and entertaining process.
