Section 1 - Business Management Skills
Fundamentals of Estimating Seminar (One Day Course)
This basic program will teach you how to calculate your break even point or as some say, your foundation for profit. You'll review AWI's Cost Book and learn how to calculate and know how much it costs you to put the key in the door and turn on the lights at your plant. Once you find out these costs, leverage this knowledge and start making profits on your bid work, each week, every month and all year long. You'll sleep better at night by knowing how and when to spot that unwanted and unprofitable work. You'll learn how to develop and apply profit margins with confidence.
Advanced Estimating Seminar (Two Day Course)
Achieve the profit and performance results you want and deserve from every project. Participants learn the basics skills of job costing, bid justification, and proven methods to successfully estimate complex projects. Your AWI faculty will guide you through unique custom woodwork estimating challenges and lead you to real-world solutions. This course requires a grasp of basic math, use of a calculator, architect s scale rule, a working knowledge of the AWI Cost Book and the AWI Quality Standards Illustrated book. Whether you bid or negotiate , the tools and curriculum from this meat-and-potatoes seminar will improve your bottom line.
(Prerequisite - Fundamentals of Estimating Seminar or 3 years experience as a custom woodwork estimator.)
Fundamentals of Project Management Seminar (One Day Course)
This basic one-day program is designed specifically for NEW project managers. You ll build a solid foundation for profitable projects, sharpen your management skills, learn what questions to ask and experience powerful new management techniques and tools. The informal structure allows ample time for questions and opportunities to explore alternative and creative solutions with your newest industry peers in the classroom.
Advanced Project Management Seminar (Two Day Course)
Effective,efficient, and aggressive project management is essential to your company's growth, profitability and health. This course will teach you to manage up to your General Contractor and Owner customers. You ll take home tools and techniques that will put your team in control of the project from the first day to job close out. Improve your customer management skills, plan for project flow instead of bumping along until job completion. Get the skills to successfully punch out and close out a project. And when it s over, learn how to analyze your project s performance and how to make corrections for higher levels of success. (Prerequisite - Fundamentals of Project Management Seminar 3 years experience as a Construction Project Manager.)

Section -3- Marketing Your Business
Quality Certification Workshop
Discover how AWI s Quality Certification Program will help custom woodwork manufacturing firms stand out from the competition, and how it can help avoid unnecessary costs by preventing non-compliant woodwork. Attendees will learn and understand the design community s perspective on QCP, learn about QCP benefits, and understand how to participate a certified manufacturer. This workshop includes Q&A and discussions between all participants. AWI manufacturing members and non-members are welcome and encouraged to attend this important workshop.
AWI Event Policies
Multiple Registrant Discount Policy
If four or more attendees from a single firm register for the same event, you may take a 20% discount off the fifth, sixth, and seventh registrant s fees.
AWI's Event Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made five (5) business days or more prior to the event will be entitled to a full refund. Cancellations made less than five (5) business days prior to the event are non-refundable. AWI reserves the right to cancel an event due to insufficient registration. Should an event be cancelled, AWI is not responsible for any expenses incurred by a previously registered participant.
