Liemur is an IT Consultancy and Training company with a difference

We are not a training broker, rather we develop and write all of our own training materials based upon real-world feedback from our consultancy engagements.
This means that our training and our trainers provide the right level of knowledge transfer. We focus on the subject areas that we know deliver the highest value in today's businesses.

We do not use contract trainers. All of our trainers also are involved on Liemur consultancy engagement and are able to use this experience when developing and delivering training sessions.

But it doesn't stop there. The learning experience continues through further Liemur services - on-site mentoring, web forum support, study groups and workshops.

Liemur was formed in 2002 to provide professional knowledge transfer services to the banking, financial and corporate sectors, especially in the areas of Object Oriented (OO) software development and the Unified Process (UP) for software development.

The founding directors, Cliff Murphy and Sylvain Liege, have excellent track records and are highly experienced at delivering leading-edge, process & development thinking. At Valtech, both held Senior Consultant positions before leaving to establish Liemur. During their tenures they specialised in developing OO and UP as the basis of their approach.

Cliff Murphy is English, and graduated from Southampton University with a first degree in Physics and Electronics, starting his career in semi-conductor engineering before moving into the software process consulting & development arena. Cliff is also a fully qualified rugby coach.
Sylvain is French and has a PhD in Computer Science from Nantes University. His early commercial experience was gained in the insurance industry and he has since assisted several other sectors. Sylvain is also fluent in English and Hungarian.

Liemur is also a vendor independent company. All recommendations are unbiased, guaranteeing that our clients always receive suitable matches to their needs and requirements. We assign specific staff to every project and all the material and documentation produced and delivered is generated by our in-house experts.

In addition, we believe in an active policy of continuous improvement to ensure that Liemur clients are provided with a legacy of ever-increasing value and ongoing improvement to their bottom lines.

Introduction to Java Technology : This one day course provides an overview of Java technologies, focusing on Java operating principles, and how it can fit into your existing architecture.

Managing a RUP Based Project : This course focuses specifically on the management of projects following an iterative software development process based on the Rational Unified Process (RUP). It aims at providing delegates with an in-depth coverage of how to manage iterative projects.

Object Oriented Analysis and Design with UML : Liemur s OOAD is a five day course focusing on the object oriented software development process; specifically analysis and design techniques. The course uses the Unified Modelling Language (UML) as standard notation for the artefacts produced throughout the course. This course is suited to the following audience: Managers, business analysts and software developers wishing to explore and use object oriented analysis and design techniques within their software engineering projects.

Project Management Principles : This one day course presents the essentials skills, techniques and principles required to plan and manage projects effectively. The course discusses the role of the project manager, the different activities and responsibilities that must be performed and general good project management practice. No prior experience of project management is necessary

RUP: The Rational Unified Process : Liemur s IRUP is an intensive one day course. The aim of this course is to describe the key principles of The Rational Unified Process (RUP) and how these may be used within an iterative software development lifecycle.

Requirements Analysis with Use Cases : Liemur s UC is a two day course focusing on using use cases to analyse requirements. The course gives and overview of the Unified Modelling Language (UML), the standard notation for project artefacts. UML is used throughout the course.
