How would the average person respond to an emergency? Panic? The need for education, training, and preparatory efforts are vital to the survival of each and every individual, corporation, organization and community. The national security and earthquake risks in the state of California represent a large current demand/market for these services. California s continued projected increase in population represents continued growth in the demand with or related to these services.
Nationally, we are at an elevated threat level. Based on the Homeland Security Presidential Directives/HSPD-5, The document addresses the subject of Managing Domestic Incidents including Programs to include training for the nation s first responders, officials and others with major event preparedness, prevention, response, & recovery roles. Combine California s high risk of a catastrophic earthquake. According to the USGS s probability mapping tool, Castro Valley has a 90 chance of experiencing a 5.0 or greater quake in the next 15 years. QUEST can assist those in acquiring the skills to prepare, increase ones ability to survive, and assist those in need. Additionally this will assist communities and businesses with necessary recovery efforts.
The services provided by QUEST also assist those required to have training as a condition of employment, acceptance into a vocational program or licensure. Empowering each person to become part of the solution. I believe when we are challenged by catastrophic events it will be communities helping communities, neighbors helping neighbors.
