Vino 101
The Vino 101 interactive wine training course teaches the basics about wine in an on-line format. The course is available in two versions:
- The Foodservice Edition teaches new foodservice professionals the basics about wine and aids in recommending, selling and serving wine. It also can be used as a refresher course for seasoned professionals. The Vino 101 wine training course is available for $299 USD for an entire staff at one location (unlimited training for 1 year).
- The Consumer Edition is for individuals seeking to develop a fundamental knowledge of wine. Vino 101 for Consumers provides essential information with buying tips and food and wine pairing suggestions. The Vino 101 wine training course is available for $39.95 USD for an individual (access for 1 year).
Both wine training courses are interactive and use video sequences, high resolution photographs, Flash animations, and an extensive wine-related glossary. Interactive remediation questions are included to build an initial base of knowledge and the Foodservice Edition can be customized to reflect your operation's menu and specific wine offerings.
Vino 101 is approximately 120 minutes in length and covers the following lessons: What is Wine?, Grape Varieties, Wine-Producing Regions and Serving & Selling Wine (Foodservice) or Buying & Serving Tips (Consumer). The courses can be accessed from any computer with an Internet connection- at the restaurant, at home, or from an Internet cafe or public library.
