Magsaysay Training Center is the training arm of Magsaysay Maritime Corporation established in the 70's. We provide skills-based training and offer diploma programs to fill the needs of world-class companies in the Maritime, Cruise, Hotel, and Healthcare and in the Travel and Tourism industries.
Magsaysay is the only Authorized Training Center (ATC) of the Montreal-based International Air Transport Association (IATA). Its primary mission as ATC is to implement in the country the IATA/UFTAA International Travel and Tourism Training Programme. Authority to teach this course was granted by IATA based on our specialized training facilities, demonstration of expertise and overall ability to provide quality training.
The IATA/UFTAA International Travel and Tourism Training Program is the most complete, industry-responsive and career-oriented training program. It provides students with the best industry-wide knowledge and globally-recognized qualifications. It is designed for individuals who want to start a career in the travel industry or upgrade their professional competence. IATA/UFTAA diplomas and certificates denote a qualification recognized under the terms of the IATA Resolutions applicable to accreditation of IATA travel agents.
Aside from IATA/UFTAA Foundation Course, Magsaysay Training also offers short-term courses designed to improve the competence of both new entrants and existing professionals in the travel and tourism industry. All our courses are developed, implemented and assessed in accordance with internationally-accepted standards for which Magsaysay came to be known as the training provider of choice for seafarers and other professions. Available short courses include:
Basic Fares and Ticketing an introduction to basic tariff rules and ticketing procedures
Advanced Fares and Ticketing an extensive study of tariff and ticketing rules and procedures
Cruise Management an introduction to the basics of the cruise product
Customer Service an introduction to basic customer service and communication skill enhancement
Resort and Spa Management a course on the administrative and operational procedure of spa and resort
Travel Accounting an introduction to accounting principles as it applies to the industry
Travel Agent s Certificate Course comprehensive training in management, computing and airline ticketing
Tour Operator s Course an introduction to itinerary planning and costing of tour packages
