Mine Awareness International
Mine Awareness International is a training organization which provides Landmine, Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) and Improvised Explosive Device awareness training to Companies and individuals who will be operating in countries or regions which have been ravaged by conflict and are contaminated by landmines and other Explosive Remnants of War.
We believe that our training courses would be of great value to clients of Companies such as yours who operate in the Middle East and Africa. We would like to consult with you with regard to offering our courses to your clients. We could achieve this several ways, either through contracting us to run courses on your behalf, or referring clients on a commission basis.
We run standard courses which run one or two days (the two day course is recommended) and covers topics such as:
- Landmine, UXO and IED identification
- Effects and safety distances
- Route planning and avoidance
- Booby traps
- Vehicle IED search techniques
- Mine and UXO incident drills

Each course requires a minimum number of four participants to proceed, and the maximum number
for each course is ideally ten, but up to twelve is possible. The courses contain a balance of classroom training and practical scenario-based learning where essential skills and drills are reinforced. The emphasis is on providing practical knowledge and skills which will enhance personal safety and improve operational planning and effectiveness. It is also possible that reduced insurance premiums can be obtained for staff attending such courses.
