How We Think
The arena of product development presents a great place for organizations to develop talented, thinking, and enthusiastic people. When these same people are encouraged to join a team with open and honest dialog, then organizations see an explosion of innovative talent. Our goal is to help organizations develop those people into "well formed agile teams" that become innovation engines of extraordinary value.
Our primary focus has been on the rapid feedback cycles found in software development. Software development provides a brutally pragmatic proving ground, that quickly winnows out bad ideas from good. This has allowed 3Back to build up a wealth of ideas and experience for helping teams get better.
We make a sharp distinction between "software development" and "product development" that is helpful to understand. We have found that the idea of "software development" is too limiting and miss-leads people to conclude that it is only about the code. We have seen repeated floundering around this idea and instead like to say "Product Development". This is a more appropriate team view when reasoning about todays increasingly complex buisness demands.
By focusing on the real, concrete lessons gained during product development, we can help you improve many aspects of your teams, and how individuals become "hyper-productive" together.

Applied Agile : Attendees will have a one of a kind, unique experience. Participants will be immersed into an "applied agile training environment" that allows a powerful combination of shadowing, applying and learning. Attendees will shadow a "well formed team", apply techniques in a robust product domain, and learn how to join and setup "well formed agile teams". This course goes beyond theory by making the theory real and allowing attendees to internalize the ideas in an applied setting. Attendees will have numerous opportunities for interactive discussions with instructors, each other and members of the shadowed team. You will not find this course elsewhere!
Certified ScrumMaster : Why?
Agile project management is as radically different from traditional project management as agile processes are different from traditional methodologies. Rather than plan, instruct and direct, the agile project manager facilitates, coaches and leads. This person is called a ScrumMaster in the Scrum agile process to denote the difference and remind the person filling this role of the new responsibilities. Accepted participants learn how to be a ScrumMaster and how to make a development team, a project, or an organization agile.
