North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) and its John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center (JPEC) is THE one stop shop for people who want to start/ buy a business, grow their business or transition out of their business. The NIACC JPEC offers technical assistance, access to federal, state and local financial assistance, debt and equity funding, training, interns and other support to businesses at every stage and every size, from home based enterprises to Fortune 500. Most programs are at no charge. The NIACC JPEC offers over 150 years of experience and hosts the Small Business Development Center (SBDC), North Iowa Business Accelerator, North Iowa Regional Business Incubator & Information Center, Iowa Workforce Development and North Iowa Venture Capital Fund. Among the organizations the NIACC JPEC partners with to promote entrepreneurship include the Iowa Department of Economic Development, SCORE, the Small Business Administration, local economic development agencies and chambers of commerce, the US Department of Agriculture and the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation, as well as a number of local and regional banks, attorneys, CPAs and other service providers. The North Iowa Regional Business Incubator & Information Center boasts a multimedia conference room with video conferencing, smart boards and high speed/ high capacity internet connectivity, intellectual property attorneys, access to top business research libraries, wet labs, machine shops, classrooms and auditoriums of all sizes, and even catering. Centrally located in the nine county NIACC service area, the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center principally serves the counties of Butler, Cerro Gordo, Hancock, Floyd, Franklin, Mitchell, Winnebago, Worth and Wright. Some programs also provide support to the areas served by Northeast Iowa Community College and Iowa Lakes Community College.
